DISPUTE RESOLUTION:
-
JGCI utilizes its professional expertise and experience base to facilitate meaningful dialogue between adverse parties involved in construction related disputes.
-
This approach, coupled with JGCI technical analysis allows JGCI to educate the involved parties in the strengths and weaknesses of their positions, and move the parties towards a resolution which results in a win-win situation for all the parties involved.

CLAIMS EVALUATION:
-
JGCI approach to Claims Evaluation allows the client to actively participate in the claim assessment process. Once JGCI receives the relevant project documents, JGCI can then present the client an assessment of the claim.
-
JGCI will then undertake comprehensive analysis of all aspects of the undertaking. This includes developing a detailed chronology of events, an analysis of the cause, effect and liability aspects of the dispute, a damage assessment approach, and relevant supporting analysis.

CLAIMS PREPARATION:
-
JGCI is frequently retained to prepare a claim on behalf of a client. JGCI prepares a claim by developing a chronology of events, an analysis of the cause, effect and liability aspects of the dispute as well as a damage assessment and a detailed technical analysis.
-
JGCI claim preparation process involves a qualified expert witness overseeing the analysis and process. This reduces redundancy and cost to the client should the preparation of Expert Opinions be required.

PROJECT CONTROLS:
-
JGCI utilizes the most advanced technology available in developing a project controls system that addresses both time of performance and resources.
-
This detailed approach allows the client to be proactive in developing solutions and strategies for anticipated project issues before they occur.

FORENSIC CPM ANALYSIS:
-
Delay, disruption or acceleration of the project schedule is a major factor in construction disputes. These disputes require a detailed schedule analysis. While many analytical methods are acceptable, each must be tailored to address the specifics of the project, whether that involves detailed forensic schedule analysis or isolated impact analysis. JGCI professionals have dedicated their careers to researching the most appropriate methods suited to the issue, and continue to evaluate “state of the art” applications, on behalf of our clients.
-
Conducting forensic critical path analysis is a key element to supporting any delay or impact issues. JGCI have the capabilities to forensically reconstruct schedules whether the client source data is detailed CPM schedule updates or nothing more than the site personnel daily journals and recollections.
EXPERT OPINIONS:
-
JGCI Expert Opinions are relevant, and necessary in assisting Arbitrators Judges and others in understanding complex issues and supported by qualified experts who have previously testified on the matters at issue.
-
JGCI Experts have the experience base to be able to simplify even the most complex issues utilizing graphics and other mediums in a readily understandable fashion for Arbitrators, Courts and other Forums.
LOSS OF PRODUCTIVITY STUDIES:
-
The introduction of design changes or unexpected conditions can result in regressive productivity levels that are not what was planned at the time of contract. Settling these types of disputes requires an understanding of the causes of loss of productivity and an ability to measure its impact.
-
This is a field in which JGCI has developed specialized expertise, particularly in the area of the “earned value” and “measured mile” analysis.
EXTRA WORK ORDER ANALYSIS:
-
Extra work orders are common on most projects. JGCI has developed a methodology for analyzing extra work orders on an isolated basis to evaluate direct cost and their impact on schedule and productivity.
LOST OPPORTUNITY COST ASSESSMENTS:
-
Projects are often delayed due to environmental and regulatory approvals, objections by interested parties and design and necessary right of way delays.
-
These delays result in additional costs, whether that involves loss of revenue due to not being able to get a commodity to market, cost escalation, or simply not being able to pursue other opportunities in the marketplace.
-
JGCI has the capability to calculate the costs associated with these losses and document the cause, effect, liability as well as our clients’ entitlement to compensation for lost profit and revenue.
DAMAGE QUANTIFICATION:
-
Fundamental to dispute resolution is determining the amount of compensation a client is entitled to. Precise determination of the cause, effect and liability which resulted in damages is critical. JGCI experience in the industry and current market values allows JGCI to provide a concise evaluation of our clients’ entitlement to additional compensation.
-
JGCI consulting, and expert services are designed to operate as a conduit for damage recovery and enhanced profitability for our clients.
